Our CNC Conversion adds:
Includes Mach 3 DEMO version
CNC control software CD and .xml set-up file to get you started quickly. Also on
the CD is an electronic copy of the Mach 3 manual and a g-code file to engrave a
proper scale US flag @ 2" X 1". (Mach 3 DEMO limited to 1000 lines of
g-code)
Three axis step motor driver
unit with 4th axis capability included. Our step driver box is built around a
4-axis driver board allowing an upgrade to 4 axes with ease. See
below for 4 axis upgrade information.
External DC power supply
design allows for 4th axis upgrade and removes all AC componentry from inside of
the driver enclosure.
Three 83 oz/in bi-polar
parallel step motors allow rapid traverses at 20 Inches per minute (500mm/min)
while still providing more than enough power for milling and cutting functions
at appropriate speeds. Motors are equiped with 6' long cables and terminated
with a unified locking quick connect device.
Step motors are attached to
the machine with CNC machined aluminum mounts. Factory lead screws are retro-fit
with duplex roller-ball thrust bearings to eliminate bearing wear due to
repeatative CNC motion. Shaft couplings are pinned to the lead screw for precise
power transmission.
8th level micro-stepping
achieves mechanical resolution of .000025"
(.000635mm)
Utilizing a proper "turn
to release" style Emergency Stop switch, the operator is protected by an
industrial Master Control Power Relay style
circuit.
The unit accepts a standard
DB-25 parallel port cable. (included)
Manual Activation is not
possible with a CNC converted machine, although jogging functions are part of
Mach3 and can be used in place of manual
machining.

Upgrade
Options:
-
4 axis electronics: Option
includes power supply upgrade and internal wiring / panel connector for motor
attachment. This improvement DOES NOT include the mechanical fourth axis or
step motor, it completes the capability of the driver box only. Add $65.00 USD
-
4th Axis: Now

details. Add $335.00
USD
-
Emergency Stop Relocation:
Our std offering has the E-stop and reset switches located on the driver box
requiring it to be within the operators reach at all times. This option
relocates the E-stop and reset buttons to the spindle head of the machine thus
enabling the driver box to be located out of sight. Add
$25.00 USD
-
Relay control box: Provides
two program controlled solid state relays that are circuit breaker protected.
Combined current draw must not exceed 15 Amps. Useful for spindle on/off
control and dust collection vacuum or spray mist solenoid/flood coolant pump.
(Inquire for a 220VAC relay box as it will require special
pricing.) 110VAC relay box Add$125.00
USD
-
Upgrade to precision
grooved race ball thrust bearings. Add $65.00
USD
-
Upgrade to helical beam
couplings. Add $60.00
USD
-
Upgrade to NEMA 23 step
motors. Quoted upon request.
-
Upgrade to Ball Screw
activation. Quoted upon request.
-
Servo Motors: Globe motors
offer 20 oz/in cont. and 170 oz/in peak torque. Max RPM = 2800. 500 count HEDS
encoder. SV-500 servo amps with 30V 5Amp capability. Upgraded power supply.
